Just the Two of Us...

It's been three years after Kayla's death, Ash has grieved over his loss, and recounted the events in his head. He had killed the one he loved, but one fateful night, everything changed.

Kayla had spent those years begging and pleading for another chance to the heavens...

...and it was given....

It was late evening, two dragons lay on a hilltop watching the stars while enjoying the feel of each other's contact after three longs years.

Kayla smiled the black dragon beside her. "I have a gift for you..."

The dragon turns and looks at her. "Really?" asked Ash. She giggles, stands up and takes a few steps in front of him. Kayla's body glows white as she transforms into a celestrial. Ash was already standing and staring in awe when her transformation was complete. Flapping her angelic wings, she started floating toward the sky.

"Wait for me, I won't be long," Kayla assured. Ash nodded in response, wondering what she could be planning.

She soared into the sky and was unable to be seen.

But then Ash spots a white flash moving at light speed moving the stars in some sort of constellation..

His breath was taken away once he's realized what she had done for him. His eyes followed her as Kayla slowly lands in front of him from her trip. She reverts to her normal form and a small blush creeps onto her cheeks as she waited anxiously for a response.

Ash looks up at the stars and then back at her, his eyes were watering as an overwhelming joy consumes him. He rushes to her, catching her off guard when he pulled her into a warm hug.

"This is the best thing anyone's ever done for me..." He hugs her tighter. "Thank you..." Kayla grins and hugs him back, tears start dropping from her eyes as well. "You're welcome...it felt right to me....." Ash pulls away slowly, but still holds her in his arms.

"Thank you... I've never had somebody give me something before..." he confessed.

Kayla's eyes widen in shock. How could anyone not give him a gift for being such a wonderful person.

"Really?" she replied.

"Yeah...you're the first really."

Again, Kayla was struck with disbelief. "Wow....I thought....you been given a gift before..."

Ash's expression saddened slightly. "Not really... nobodies really liked me enough to give me something...

"Ash..."

He smiled and whispered in her ear, "Thanks Kayla....for everything..."

A grin forms on Kayla's lips. "No problem...I should be thanking you too....you saved me from believing no one could ever fall for me for who I am....."

Ash brings her face up and looks into her sapphire blue eyes. The intense gaze was enough to make her blush alone.

"Your better then what they've been treating you..." he said, "You deserve more then what you've been through..." Her head lowers as tears trickle down her cheeks as she was touched by his words. She chokes out his name as emotion overtakes her.

"Ash...." she choked as her voice quivered.

"Kayla...."

Ash felt himself plummet to the ground by a strong force. Kayla had tackled him to the grass and pressed her lips against his. At first, he recoils due to the tackle, but when he felt her lips against his, the pain was instantly forgotten as he closes his eyes and returns the kiss. She wraps her arms around his neck to deepen the kiss more as she poors all her love into it, savoring the moment between them after such a long absense. He does the same in turn, holding her close to his body while still on the ground.

At that moment, they didn't think about war...no battles...no threats....just them and their love....it was just the two of them...
